Grayson Michaels

     Calling all local talent! Grayson Michaels is looking for local artists and talents that are wanting to do a panel, or a local board! He would like to express that this is not limited to that of just writing short stories, novels, novellas, or any other literature item. It is an invitation to ALL artists. So, what does that mean? Anyone that does photography, paints, children's books or graphic novels. Grayson's thought process behind this is that it's a wonderful opportunity for other artists and talents able to not only meet each other, but also the opportunity for exposure to the public to display your work! You said Panel. Does that mean there is going to be a lot of public speaking?

 

     Although the word panel is used, there would be no requirement of public speaking. All that would be required is for you to bring copies of your books, photos,etc., a cashbox in case you sell copies, and a smile. This is a time to mingle with other artists and the general public coming to look at your work. It would be encouraged to seek out conversation with those coming to see what is being offered. But there isn't any session that would require you to stand up in front of a large audience and actually speak.

 

When you say local talent, what do you consider local? What if I don't live in the area?

 

     Grayson himself lives in the Lewis Clark Valley. However, it would not be limited to having to drive to Lewiston, or Clarkston to do a venue, or event. If you live in the surrounding areas, then it would be something we could work with and try to schedule. So if you live in Grangeville, Craigmont, Culdesac, Lapwai, Moscow, Pullman, Albion, etc. then you are all welcome to attend any of these events. If you want to plan an event however, or have a venue that you would like to host then please give at least a month's notice so that people could plan accordingly. Again, we are all artists here and Grayson is anxious to meet other locals in the area. Grayson is constantly looking for venues as well and will often post on Facebook events that have been planned. 

 

How do you advertise these events and panels when one has been set?

 

     Social media is the greatest outreach available! Often times, when Grayson has events he will create the event on a Facebook page, and will tag everyone that will be attending it or part of it. On the weeks leading up to the event Grayson will also tag members in posts including the venue or business. Grayson has often times created his own fliers to be distributed for the business owners, as well as posting them on community boards in the general public. If there is a piece of work or something that you'd like on the page then simply e-mail it to him as  a .JPEG format and your work will be put on the flier if you will be attending.
